The following is from a King County Sheriff’s department press release.
A 68 year-old Mercer Island man died Friday morning when his motorcycle dumped in an intersection. He apparently slid into another vehicle and was killed.
The accident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. today (March 19) in Woodinville.
A 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 650 was eastbound on NE 195th. The driver was turning left onto northbound Woodinville-Snohomish Road, crossing the intersection.
Another vehicle, a 2004 Jeep Liberty, was westbound on NE North Woodinville Way, also crossing the intersection.
It appears the motorcycle went down and the rider slid into the second vehicle, hitting his head. He died at the scene. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet.
There is no indication that the motorcycle and the car actually collided.
The Jeep Liberty, was driven by a 17 year-old from male Woodinville.
The investigation is continuing.
