Man fires shotgun at cars , no injuries

March 23rd, 2010 at Tue, 23rd, 2010 at 11:50 am by dennisbox

A man carrying a shotgun fired at least one round at passing cars this morning in Burien.  It doesn’t appear any cars were hit and no one was injured.  Deputies arrested the man.

The incident began about 5 a.m. today (March 23rd).  The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a driver who said someone pointed a gun at him as he drove past the intersection of South 128th and 1st Avenue South.

Deputies and Burien police went to the intersection and saw a man holding what appeared to be a long-barreled gun.  Before the officers could act, cars drove by and they heard the suspect fire a round in the direction of the passing cars.

1st Ave South was shut down and officers approached the suspect and ordered him to drop his weapon.  Wisely, he complied.  The 54 year-old Burien man was taken into custody.

A 12-gauge shotgun, still loaded with three rounds of buckshot, was seized.

The suspect was booked in to the King County Jail for investigation of assault.

The man did not provide a motive for his actions.
