I am not a resident of Maple Valley and frankly don't care what goes on there. However, I came across this blog by accident and couldn't help but comment. I find it unbelievable that Candidate Rose is spending so much time of her campaign on smear tactics and ticky tacky unimportant matters. I find it hard to condenm the city council or her opponent for securing funds for a Farmer's Market. Would she rather have had the Farmer's Market close down and not be able to serve the community. I can't think of one community who does not support a Farmer's Market. Same thing with the Food Bank. Just because your opponent is active in these non-profit organizations doesn't mean that they cannont continue to take donations from charitable citizens and/or city council. All of your blog is heresay. You cannot and do not know if the contributions to these non-profits were made for the purpose of funneling campaign contributions. If the two individuals named who made donations to the Food Bank and Farmer's Market wanted to support the candidate, they would have just given her the contributions directly. Why hide it through a charitable donation? The tax write off isn't worth the effort for that small of an amount. How can you prove that the donations and funding to the non-profits went to the candidate and not to actually support the functioning and viability of the non-profits? You can't and I'm sure they went to support the organizations as they were intended. Like I said, I don't know what goes on in Maple Valley, but it seems to me that you must be losing this campaign and resorting to smear tactics (of which we all know from the Presidential election, don't work as the public is smarter than you give them credit for.) I would advise you to move on to more important matters.
